Navajo Rug

A note on cleaning Navajo rugs.
Navajo rugs are not color fast. Many have been ruined by immersing them in water with and without detergents. The best way to clean them is to give them to someone that specializes in their cleaning. We buy Navajos in all grades of condition and would rater buy them dirty than improperly or expensivly cleaned. We have had success cleaning them ourselves with a solution of white vinegar and water but would not recommend it or try it ourselves on a very valuable rug.
